Five Minute box is an intervention to support children with learning phonics, a key skill for learning to read and write. Children undertake the Five Minute Box, one at a time at least four times a week. It teaches the basic skills for reading and writing: early phonics, keywords and personal and sequential information. It allows each child to consolidate and revisit all tasks to ensure skills are not forgotten, and then teaches new skills in small steps.
