Hi my name is Caroline Swain and I am a foundation governor appointed by the diocese. I have three children at the school (Finley Year 4, Flora Year 2 and Etta Nursery) and I am married to Luke. As a family we are regular members of the congregation of St Peter's Church. I am also in the PCC, chairperson of the social committee and a Junior Church Leader.
I came to Birmingham in 2000 to study Physiotherapy at the University of Birmingham. I commenced work within the NHS at a trust in Dudley where I was for 18 years and more recently as a Team Leader Physiotherapist at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. Here I work with patients (both adults and paediatrics) who have had surgery, injuries, or recent cancer diagnosis. The main areas I work within is the Hydrotherapy pool and the Physiotherapy gym. I am also a Safeguarding Champion for adults and children.
Outside of work and family life I love sport, both doing and watching. The sport I have done to a national level is swimming and I sill try to swim
2-3 times a week. I have been able to link Physiotherapy and swimming through becoming a National Classifier for Disability Swimming.
If you every want to contact me, I would be happy to chat on the playground or you can contact me via the school office or school email.
