Year 3

Home Learning for anyone self isolating during Autumn Term 1. (Please open this document first before trying the activities detailed below.)

Friday 23rd October - Please watch the video on White Rose Maths. This can be found on the Home Learning section - current week - 'Add two 3 digit numbers, crossing 10 or 100'. If possible complete the worksheet. If you do not have access to a printer then you could copy the questions and answer on a piece of paper.

Remember to practice your times tables, especially your 2,3,5 and 10. Try to recall the multiplication and related division facts. I have attached a sheet for practicing. See how long it takes you to answer the questions. Repeat it each day and hopefully you'll get more and more confident!

After half term we will be working on our 4 and 8 times tables, so why not get ahead and start working on them now.

For English, please click on the Oak Academy link. This will take you to a unit on non-chronological reports. Please listen to lesson 14 - 'To write the first section of your report'. Remember to pause the video where needed and complete the tasks. If anyone is up for a challenge, then over half term, why not try and complete your report on portia spiders by watching the remaining lessons in this unit.

Attempt to read for at least  20 minutes a day. Please ask an adult to test you on your spellings for this week. Hopefully you'll get full marks. If not, remember to check where you went wrong and write them out a few times more.

Science - Please click on the Oak academy link. This will take you to the unit on magnets and magnetism. Please watch lesson 6 -'What are some uses of magnetic materials?'- and complete the tasks.

For your Topic work, you can choose from the suggested list on the Home Learning sheet. There are a number of tasks. Each one is going to take more than one session to complete. Remember to take pride in your work and present it well.

We would love to see your work. If you wish, you can send your work to your class teacher at their email address:

Take care and stay safe. smiley

Blue Abyss- Environmental/Art - Please click on the two links below and watch these thought provoking videos. They explain the effect of plastic pollution on our oceans and sea creatures. We need to cut down the amount of plastics we use, especially single use plastics. Please design a poster that encourages people to think carefully about how they dispose of plastics and how and when they use them. Try to complete your poster if you didn't manage to do so yesterday.
